Formúlanse poñendo o símbolo do elemento seguido do osíxeno. O primeiro elemento leva sempre o subíndice 2 (a valencia do osíxeno), e o osíxeno o que lle corresponda á valencia do outro elemento (sempre que sexa posible simplifícanse os subíndices).&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;Noméanse coa palabra “óxido” seguida da preposición “de” e o “nome do elemento”, coa valencia do elemento metálico, entre paréntesis en números romanos, cando o metal e polivalente. Utilízanse os prefixos MONO-, DI-, TRI-, TETRA-,... para indicar o número de átomos de cada elemento, cado este é un non metal (pódese prescindir do prefixo MONO-, só debe utilizarse cando hai outros óxidos do mesmo elemento con distinta valencia).&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;Fe2O3: Óxido de ferro
